GAUSS is participating in the international conference “Human space exploration – 2016” held in Korolyov (Moscow region), Russia, on May 24-26, 2016, along with several distinguished attendants, such as space agencies, space industry’s managers and experts, cosmonauts, astronauts, engineers and scientists.
The event is organized by the Russian Space Agency Roscosmos, under the aegis of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and with the support of RSC “Energia” S. P. Korolev and Korolev city administration.
It is in conjunction with the commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the first manned flight into space (Yuri Gagarin’s space mission) plus the 15 years after the first crew long-term mission (the International Space Station – ISS) in the city that can be considered the cradle of Russian cosmonautics (thanks to Sergey Korolev).
This conference is a chance for leading space authorities and scientific representatives to discuss human space exploration topics, present and future manned space missions, practical issues (e.g. ISS recent changes) and cooperation in the space field.
It is also an occasion for cosmonauts and astronauts to share their extraordinary orbit memories.
The participants are attending the event to express their overview of the ISS outcome for the human kind; aerospace engineers can outline their future exploration plans to the Moon, to Mars and other planets.
On May 25, one of GAUSS engineers, Riccardo Di Roberto, presents a paper titled: “A robotic precursor mission to the moon for radiation sensing using nanosatellites”.
The recommendations of the conference participants will be the basis of the conclusions that the International Academy of Astronautics will present at heads of space agencies’ level in 2017.
